Epic burn up chart for Jira

Summary

This addon provides a chart that allows to forecast the progress of Jira epics

How to access the chart

Jira Project Report: the chart is available under the reports section on any project. Note that the chart is useful only on agile projects.

Jira Dashboard Report: the chart is also available as an item that can be added to any dashboard.

Quickstart

Preconditions:

• an agile project
• an agile board in the project
• an epic in progress
• resolved tickets in the epic to calculate the velocity
• unresolved tickets in the epic to estimate the remaining tasks

Steps to use the addon:

• Go to the reports section in an agile project
• Select the Epic Burnup Chart Report from the list
• Customize the report as needed

Configuration

Epic selection

Steps to select an epic:

• select the project that contains the epic
• select the board that contains the epic
• select the epic

Target date

The due date and the version release dates of the selected epic are included by default in the chart.
Additionally the user can define a custom target date.

Time Unit

Time series points are grouped by the selected time unit. Daily and weekly time units are available.

Velocity calculation periods

This options defines the number of periods of the given time unit to take into account to calculate the forecast.
Thus, if the number is 4 and the time unit is weekly then the mean and standard deviation of the velocity will be calculated based on the velocity of the 4 most recent weeks.
